Produce by Luz

January 16, 2010

In southern Arizona – we found treasure at a roadside stand on the way back from hiking – mesquite honey, pulpy cayenne tamarind, roast pumpkin seeds, honey-roasted amaranth and sesame seeds, dried guava (tastes a little like pine), oily pecans, coconut confections in the colors of the Mexican flag. Plus our six-year-old started learning to knit – maybe she’ll teach me.
We’re in Yuma to visit family and give Mazie Jane some time with skilled teachers, her aunts. What an easy lifestyle it is here, and deeply enjoyable company.
