The weather could almost always be worse in the Rocky Mountains, so as long as theres not snow flying and temps much below 30 degrees, I won’t complain too much. Yesterday was a constant drizzle to full rain to sleet, all day long with temps never getting above 35 or so. This type of day does very little for our battery charging capabilities, and with having to run the heat(which requires a 12v fan) we had to squeak through the night on very little power, and actually had to turn the heat off just before sun up, as the batteries could hardly pull the fan. The kids haven’t complained about the cold nights at all, but are excited to get back in the warmth. Cam had the day off from classes and we were treated to a wonderful Indian lunch with Ann Hays, a lifelong family friend from back home. It was so good to see her and catch up, and gives me in particular, the comfort feelings of family and home.  We had planned to travel up to Ann’s place in Estes Park for the day, but her call early that morning, told of snow falling since dawn at that elevation, so we happily agreed to let her come to Boulder rather than us move Belle up that snowy road. “Thank You” again, Ann.

The sun is blessing us today with temps in the mid 50’s and our batteries are already on the rebound, which is good as the forecast is below 28 for the next two nights and mostly rain tomorrow. It really is day to day with this system, especially in this type of weather.  We just don’t have the reserve battery power to run everything, plus heat, for much more than a full day and night, then we need more sun. Keep on shinin Mr Sun, please!

The kids and I are off on our bikes(with soccer ball along) to the University Campus. Boulder is the best biking town in the world. It really makes the kids feel big to bike around the campus and town, and they both, esp. little Holt, get big grinned looks.
