Yuma and beyond

September 10, 2009

“Wow, we’re right smack next to a cactus”, Mazie Jane exclaims in Yuma, AZ. She was suprised to discover that people even had them in their yards.

Once again, our sweat glands bird dogged the Colorado river. We searched out a park right in town, and to our elation, found an inner tube business set up there complete with shuttle. The wetness saved our day and smiles, as we floated the mile or so of sand bottom Colorado. We couldn’t been happier, splashing and floating in the waist deep river. Afterwards, we treated ourselves to dinner out ( it’s way too hot to cook in the camper, and theres only so muych tuna fish we can eat). The  full tummies and air conditioning was  just the thing before hoping back into Belle for some cooler night time travel towards Tuscon.

It’s after 11:00 now and the kids are snoozin and the weather has finally gotten cooler than in the past couple nights. We’ll drive for another hour and getv close to Tuscon to take care of errands, stock up, and relax before hitting the high desert mountains for our strawbale class, starting this weekend.
